The Brown & Sharpe 74.111371 InteRapid dial test indicator reads to 0.0005”, with one-half revolution in either direction equivalent to 0.030”, and a total measurement range of 0.060”. The large measuring span helps when inspecting significant size variations, such as on a surface plate, to measure positional, form, and shape errors. Designed to give true readings when the angle between the stylus and the surface is 12 degrees; in other measuring positions, such as when the stylus is parallel to the workpiece surface, the values read must be corrected. Lever-type dial test indicator has 1.2” dial face mounted parallel to the insert axis. The inclined dial is easy-to-read. The white dial face includes a revolution counter to keep track of the overall measurement and a contrasting black hand to help make measurements easy to read. It has a one-piece, solid case for durability. It also has very high sensitivity for very light measuring pressure. The jeweled mechanism is fitted with ball bearings and is fully reversible, swiveling through 210 degrees without reversing the lever, while the lever system has friction drive to prevent overload. The ball contact tip reaches into the workpiece up to 0.65”.
